Yakkin' about Tv
Oct. 19th, 2007 11:14 amI've no source for this, but I read somewhere that the reason we haven't seen any of the fall's shows being pruned is that, out of terror at the prospect of a Writer's Guild strike, the networks are trying to clear out all the stuff they have, and keep the designated mis-season stuff for the inevitable strike/mass cancellation periods.
This may be good for some shows that need time to find an audience after the drop off from their pilot honeymoon.
I mean, seriously, you'd usually have seen a couple dozen cancellations by now, and I don't recall hearing of any. That may be because I'm not listening too well, but we'll see. Anyone? Any cancellations yet?
edit: Found the column I read yesterday.
