lab_brat linked me to the fanhistory Wiki.

Fandom is generally a history of who hates who, and this doesn't disappoint. There are even Venn diagrams of how certain fandom tiffs fit together.





They have a fairly wide yet shallow article about LJ, as well as a slightly better put together page on Beauty & the Beast fandom, which was one of Cynra's big fandoms in the day (and how she met redeem147, iirc).

Because that's who's editing it. I figure if someone wants to carefully document the history of various fan spats from lit fans and media fans they'd have space for it.

Heh, I thought the name 'Furry' in 'Furry Fandom' had been corrupted beyond its initial creation, but not nearly so much as 'Fandom' which now apparently means 'slash fanfiction' exclusively. I guess once you watch any given TV show or movie a few times there's nothing to do but imagine the characters having kinky sex!

If they use the term "fandom" they are specifically referring to only writers and readers of slash.

They don't call it "slash fandom" they just call it "fandom" but they mean slash fans only.
