I must say, Mama Weasely going all Ripley on Bellatrix Lestrange in the final battle was pretty darn neat. She's been all nurturing and shit so far, but she just went off on her.

Shit, as it were, happened. Which always makes me happy.

Well -- consider the alignment of Molly Weasley with Lily Potter for a moment. I'd imagine that she got quite a boost from that mama-bear instinct.

Also, as greenlion pointed out, consider that Molly has seven wizard children, six of them boys, one a dragon hunter and two notorious pranksters. She's got to have the badest-assest counter-cursing talent on the planet or the Burrow would be the Blasted Wasteland.

That I loved! One knew that she had it in her, those boys of hers were far to obediant to suspect otherwise but it was awesome to see her get right into the middle of battle.

And, one of her sons had just died, so she was madder than usual.

That was one of the best parts of the book - that, and Kreacher leading the Hogwarts House-elves into battle. Fabulous.

I was actually hoping to see something come from Ginny being the seventh, but that didn't bear any fruit.

But, yes, total mama bear moment, and a great contrast to her more domestic mien through the series.
