Boots to the head
Jul. 14th, 2007 11:04 pmCynra & I took in our first Fringe play of the season last night, Duel of Ages. It consisted of six short vignettes that focused around combat of various types.
The first four were actually based on real duels (or at least people); Jarnac and Chataigneraye, Le Duel des Mignons, La Maupin (which was primarily an excuse for fancy dancing and some hot chicks kissing) and The Pistoleers, about the last duel in Canada (or rather Newfoundland) in 1873.
The last two were very fun. Egos and Idols was about the relationship/rivalry between Basil Rathbone & Errol Flynn. The final one, One, was a big kung fu battle between a hero and a bunch of ninjas. It also had wire fu (or stage-hand fu) an slo mo.
Overall, yeah, it was fun. And, occasinally, hot.
