Jun. 25th, 2007 04:26 pmA semi regular compendium of simple campaign themes I'll never get to use.
Game: Nightmares of Futures Past System: Champions
I figure insurgent mutants fighting the oppressive sentinels is still a great idea, even now 20 years later. Putting together a few giant robots and some other stuff, and away we go.
Game: TORG System: TORG 1.5
I got the rules, right? I got a thousand sourcebooks for it, right? I figure I might was well use them. I particularly want to run my God Squad game, where all the PCs would be priests or other representatives of various aspects of the divine. I figure that's ripe for interparty debate/banter/conflict. If I could play in that game, I'd play a priest of The Race.
Game: Buffy, North of 60 System: Cinematic Unisystem
The slayer finds herself on a native reserve in Canada's north. Less vampires, more demons and spirits. Much more viable as a Season 8 setting type thing, plus there's options to use some of the other stuff without looking dumb. I would probably pillage some Pentex stuff from W:tA, because I dislike letting things go to waste.
Game: Top Secret: DG System: Top Secret: SI
When I'm not trying to convince myself that Top Secret: SI deserves an OGL treatment of some kind, I think it would be really, really easy to rip the Sanity system screaming and bleeding off BRP and stitch it onto this '80s refugee. I'm fond of hit locations and damage boxes and percentile skills.
Game: Al-Qadim System: AD&D 3.5
All the kids like D&D, and AQ is just odd enough a setting to make it extra fun. Shame that Sandstorm didn't quite make the cut as a perfect supplement, but there's lots of useful info in it. I've contemplated using True 20 as well.
Game: That Call of Cthulhu d20 Campaign I got from FFG's sale System: CoC d20
I ran about a session's worth with this. It almost worked.
