So call me Mr. Timing:

Well, I'll once again ignore the whole 'ratings' concept and say that I'm enjoying Drive so far. It seemed an amusing amalgam of two of my faves, The Amazing Race and the current slate of post X-Files serial dramas. I will point out that I got the America's Surrender clue PDQ.

I'm thinking that, should it find success, the show could easily go forward with a new race and slate of racers each year; this would, of course, conflict with Corrina's goal to get vengeance on the race runners.

It seems reasonable to assume that the racers are all chosen for a reason, although I don't know if I look forward to the entire show being a Twilight Zone morality play.

At this point, it's enjoyable enough for the "SoCal can look like ANYWHERE, honest!" attitudes and pretty Canuck cast. How long can that last? Well, last night they started veering off the ready course (har! har!) by showing what's happened to two 'eliminated' contestants and by giving some characters something to do other than driving.

Edit: Aaaaaaand... It's cancelled.

Look for fans to start mailing Impalas to the Fox studios. They should just get a standing order for Tim Minnear to get a
Pick Me U
p bouquet sent to him a month after every series he produces starts.
