Jocks meet Nerds

So, Cynra dragged me from my new years rest to watch the Rose parade. This was because George Lucas was parade grand marshal.

And it was the strangest thing ever. In between floats with frogs in sinks and racing chuckwagons were a float representing Naboo and Endor, a university marching band dressed up as Imperial officers, cheerleades dressed upas Twilleks, and a marching squad of the 401st.

Is nerdiness dead in the 21st century? Will we see guys in short pants walking side by side with football players?

There was also a Heroes trailer.

There was also a pretty cool dragon float and an off-hand comment from one of the commentators that he played D&D back in the day.

If media pesonalities can reveal their youthful D&D habits, perhaps we can see that brighter day on the horizon.
