Okay, so, yesterday after work I headed up to Dragon Lady for some comics, I picked up the new Franklin Richards book. Enjoyed it, although it was odd that the last third or so of the book was promotional material for a new character. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was a promo for the soap opera crossover Guiding Light.

You can apparently see the episode here, although I can't get it to open.

edit: God Bless Youtube. Here's a trailer for that storyline.

I read something about this in the news section of the Fantastic Four miniseries. Apparently they had a number of Marvel characters on Guiding Light. I haven't watched the show in forever, but when I did watch, one of the actors was Abby from Lost.

I think this is the weirdest cross-promotion I've ever seen, and I read Superman meets the Quik Bunny.

I've been watching this project develop for some time. Jim McCann, the writer, is an old friend of ours. Heck, Janet got him the job at Marvel.

No idea how it's going to play, but it'll be interesting no matter what. Jim's a talented writer, and he loves comics, so I think it'll turn out okay.

bwa-ha-ha! I heard about this and then totally forgot about it. I used to watch Guiding Light years ago. I can't believe that it's HARLEY!!! LOL...almost makes me want to watch it again.

Dude. That's very, very awesome. I'd be more inclined to watch it if it was a crossover with DOOL, but hey, I did watch GL for a while, back in the day...

How long 'til Matt Murdock and Grissom team up for a case?

I was under the impression it was going to be a mini, but I could be wrong. I'd be a little surprised if they went to all this cross-promo effort for just one issue.

The funny thing? It was all his idea. He originally moved to New York to write soaps, found his way into Marvel (arguably his first love) instead, and then a couple years later came up with this. He's about the only guy I know with the encylopedic knowledge of both genres needed in order to pull this off.

Mrs. Badass has watched GL for 20 years. Suffice to say, I am not allowed to even *mention* this particular episode.
