a short summary, yeh.
Oct. 6th, 2006 05:32 pmBefore going to the weekly session of The Greatest Gaming Group Ever, I dropped by
papajoemambo's pad to pick up some graphical entertainment. I got a month and half's worth of 52 (More Magnus! MORE!) and some Whedon-Men as well as Agents of ATLAS and some Eternals.
I also dug through the cheapo bin out front and picked up issues 1, 2, 4 &5 of Thriller by Fleming and Eeden. Probably one of the most gamer friendly books on the planet, it's about a mysterious patron and her sidekicks, the Seven Seconds ("She has seven seconds to save the world").
Salvo is a character I've always wanted to make in an RPG. He's the world's greatest marksman and he refuses to kill anyone. "Only flesh wounds! Only outpatients! I won't kill anyone, so don't ask me to!" He shows off his stuff by shooting two bullets out of midair, and then shooting off the reader identification character's jacket. That's just cool.
I've even thought about how to model him in Champions. Multipower with all sorts of weird stuff, and if there's an RKA, it's very low (literally, a die or less) with penetrating or armour piercing.
I've also thought it would be neat to do in a pulpy Top Secret game.
The comic, however, is just messed up. It's kind of hard to keep track of, especially with a missing issue. I presume it told us something about the villain and the heroes.
Hey! Moisture Vaporaters! You can start hydroponic farming in the middle of the desert now!
Just look out for sand people.

Date: 2006-10-07 03:59 am (UTC)As for how to write him up in Champions: He's got a Multi-Power full of stuff like Entangle (shoot off their belts, their pants drop around their ankles), Flash, Tunneling (shoot a circle through the floor!), Movement Drain/Destruction (kneecap!), and even an RKA. The hardest part is coming up with the descriptions of the various powers. He's a character for a technobabbler, that's for sure.
Use an END battery with a pretty good Recovery instead of Charges. He just carries THAT many guns, and reloads instinctively, whenever he's not actually shooting (like on the Post-Segment 12 Recovery Phase, natch).
Buy the Multi-Power as an OIF instead of an OAF: for one, he can ALWAYS justify having a hold-out; for another, he can do these tricks with ANY gun, even one he just grabs from some hapless thug.
