Date: 2006-06-12 09:03 pm (UTC)Despite all of the corruption scandals over the years (and largely because of them), the ethics rules in Congress are much stricter than The Onion's amusing article (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/45365) would have us chuckle at, and there's much less money readily available to MCs than most folks suppose.
It's also easy to see why bribes can be tempting, though it's still utterly reprehensible when they succumb to the temptation.
