This gem, in case you didn't hear, is the brain surgeon who railed against the culture of hate being fomented in "South Toronto".

*We don't need to really answer that, do we?

Ha! Better than the fact that he forgot he was carrying around a loaded handgun, I love the tidbit of information revealed in the article: he doesn't have an apartment in Washington and sleeps in his office!

Maybe the guy can't afford a second home. Being a congressman's no guarantee of wealth, though most congressmen are at least well-to-do.

Either way, this guy has... well let's just say thus far he's failed to impress me, on any level whatsoever.

Now that's fascinating reading. I was aware of the issue, but not quite the scope of it.

Despite all of the corruption scandals over the years (and largely because of them), the ethics rules in Congress are much stricter than The Onion's amusing article (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/45365) would have us chuckle at, and there's much less money readily available to MCs than most folks suppose.

It's also easy to see why bribes can be tempting, though it's still utterly reprehensible when they succumb to the temptation.
