So, Cynra & I headed down to T.Dot for the Smart Scavenger hunt.Met up at the Eglinton Smart centre. There was breakfast type foods (juice, coffee, breadstuffs, etc) and some general kibbitzing.
It was a big event organized by Smart Canadato promote the car in conjunction with the DaVinci Code, since the car features in both the book and the film. There were a hundred and fifty or so Smarts gathered, so it was quite a bunch.
It was a sort of watered down Amazing Race, with each Smart crew getting assigned a letter and a destination. When you got to your destination, you told them your letter and they gave you your next destination. That way, the cars didn't all have to go to the same destination. Good idea, that.
Theoretically, you had to figure out what your destination was based on a clue, but you also got a map, so that wasn't so tough. We headed off to Lakeshore, then up to an eagle shaped building in the UofT campus, over to Casa Loma, over to Ash Bridges Bay and then to the final destination, the Boiler House at the Distillery District.
That Distillery District is nice, by the way. Very old and pretty.
While there, there was BBQ & soda.
Enjoyable experience. Navigating around a strange city is always fun, even if it's one you technically work in.
Afterwards, it was X-Men 3. We were both kinda hemming and hawing about it. It was definitely not as bad as we'd been afraid it would be. If you go, make sure you stay until the end of credits.
