thebitterguyIs that pretty much any theory you posit about lost that is based solely on stuff you see on the show and not goofy online stuff that's 90% made up by people with too much time kind has to be taken at face value. So, I present to you: a ludicrous LOST theory!
So Fire is Fortune, as personified by the Numbers. Hurley as the bearer of Fire/Fortune, has become the new Prometheus.
The bird was the eagle (eagle is an anagram for E Gale, Henry Gale's nane pronounced by someone with a Danish accent!), sent to consume his liver, which is why he heard it call his name. But he ducked, so it missed him.
