Hey! A Summary! Everyone LOVES those!
Apr. 30th, 2006 08:57 pmWell, the weekend turned out as expected. We went to dinner and gaming at George's place yesterday, after I went for a massage & Cynra got her dental done (God Bless comprehensive medical).
Always good to let
ketronic do what she does. She only uses SOME of her elbows.
We had burgers & salads w/ Sangria before cracking open Star Munchkin. I began to get very, very tired around eleven, so Cynra & I made it past the wonderfully organized non-QEW (the wonders of TO's traffic organization) and back to Milton in just under two hours.
We did not play Doom, although George & I took in the wonders of the expansion. I think there's something seriously wrong with me that I get so very, very excited over a box-full of plastic toys and some instructions.
The CTF map strikes me as strange; the main point of CTF is that you don't KNOW how the other team's gonna come in. Will they flank, will they send in everyone, will they hold back and then come for you when they've eliminated you? On a board-game, you know how they're doing it.
Today was yard work and Baycon. I met up with James at Baycon where I gave people info about GX. Rackham seems eager to attend, and Looney Labs is eager to come once they complete their move to Hamilton. Fantasy Flight also looks possible. Also made possible contact for GoHs for '07.
Got to kibbitz a bit with
doc_mystery and his charming wife and little girl. It is painfully true that we hadn't seen each other since GX last year, which must be corrected. I still have to run Pulp Zombies for him & his group.
Also bumped into another guy I know from my Strat club days, so that makes two I saw this weekend. If I'd bumped into
diaperman it would have been a trifecta.
Managed to talk to
pyat for a while after he got home in the afternoon; didn't get a chance to drop by, as I had to return to Casa Bitter after doing some shopping for aforementioned yardwork. Mowed most of the back forty.
Dinner was chicken skewers, rice & salad, so that's hopefully all healthy n' stuff.
While I'm here: Happy Birthday to
kearsley. Huzzah!
