thebitterguyMan, what a week. A quiet one, too. Cynra & I took an evening out on Monday to take in Thank You for Smoking. An amusing flick, sure, but the majority of the good stuff got put into the trailer, as per normal. I think the film would have been much better if there hadn’t been an obnoxious kid to justify… something.
I mean, it’s not as if there was a decent redemption or anything. He’s still a fast-talking sleazeball, just not working for the cigarette companies. And what was up with the Marlboro man? “Sure, take the money! And then call the news companies! But then you can’t keep it , because you’ll be an asshole! Woo, I beat the Cancer guy!”
Wow. So the highlight of his ‘arc’ is at the end of the film, he isn’t making a person with cancer look bad. Man. Surely someone should have realized that when the lead character
Still, amusing, but that mofo was just the epitome of evil.
Slowly going mad from D&D withdrawal. Must… slay… evil outsiders… Must achieve… Prestige class… dedicated to slaying… evil outsiders…

sixteenbynine’s review, I see more things that hadn’t caught with me the first time. I’m almost (almost!) wishing I had it on DVD so I could watch that corridor scene again. And nothing else.
Saturday will be rubathon withketronic, then off to a friend’s for a BBQ and to finally play Doom (the board game). Huzzah! I shall frag, or be fragged.
Going to be attending Baycon for a few hours on Sunday to make connections with folks and stuff. Anyone gonna be attending that day?
We’re contemplating doing some more movie watching; mayhap another screening of Brick or The Notorious Bettie Page, or seeing Kinky Boots.
Edit: Oh, yeah! My freaking car burnt out another headlight bulb! Rasa frassa frakkin snacking!
