The following, btw, is NOT an attempt to ressurect the Question Meme. It is, in fact, just some questions. I will not give anyone any if they ask for them.

1. I spent a lot of the 90s in a virtual world called "FurryMUCK"; basically a role-playing MUD where everyone is an anthopomorphic animal (aka "funny-animal") of some kind. Some characters where just characters, while others were "personal furries", i.e. avatars meant to be the funny-animal represenation of their real-life selves. What would your "personal furry" look like?

Ohh, a Furry question. Hmmm. Probably a sloth. Or a housecat, since I am prone to taking occasional, decisive action between periods of extreme relaxation. Or a bear, because they try very had to sleep through winter.

2. What are 3 things that you're really proud of?

i) sense of humour. It's a deadly weapon.
ii) My marriage. At the very least, it's managed to outlast those of a great many of my peers. Wether it's true adoration, or just cussedness on both our parts, it's an accomplishment.

My cooking. I'm no chef, but I like to think I do some of my best work in the kitchen. Except for making curry. Then, I gotta go for a bottle.

3. What is it you do for a living, and what is it you wish you could be doing?

I work as a CSR for a financial institution. As many the classic workplace wag has said, I love my job, it's my work I hate.

I wish I could be doing something creative, or working as a journalist. Or a steady freelance gig; hell, I'd do game design work if there was money in it.

4. What's one of your formative early experinces as a role-playing gamer?

Getting killed in a pickup game before the game began. Purely DM fiat. It taught me never to trust a game master. Or possibly that scouting attracts assholes.

Otherwise, playing one on one MSH with my friend Robert. I learned a lot back then, about being a prepared GM and the mechanic of one on one GMing. Of course, I was the player in that one.

5. Given anywhere real or imaginary, where would you choose to live?

Astro City. It's such a nice place, when the aliens aren't invading. Or the Discworld. Slightly more real world, I could live in Margaritaville for a while. Anywhere with sun and beaches. Maybe Australia, as they seem to be like Canadians with better weather.

Five Guilty Pleasures:

1) Lj: It's so wacky. Seriously, I'm addicted. It's just neat ot read deep thoughts, chicken recipies and literary criticism, often in the same post. Okay, never in the same post, but the same page.

2) Civ: Ever since I was introduced to the first game by my TORG GM with the eloquent phrase "I have Zulus coming out my butt!" it's been fun. Admittedly, Civ III was less than enthralling, but still, there's fun to be had. I can still play SMAC for hours. HOURS. It's so much fun to start a society and build it up to world dominance. Or, you know, not so much. Doing it on an alien planet? Even better. The wonder movies in SMAC are super cool.

3) Die Hard: A movie that was in the right place at the right time for me to fall completely in love with. As far as I'm concerned, it is the perfect action film ever. To be honest, you could drop one sidekick (the limo driver, perhaps) and still be satisfying, but it's still a great movie. The sequel was much weaker, and the third film was just okay, but this sucker was sublime.

4) Poutine: the greatest junk food ever. It's like sometning someone would make up as a joke. Oh, you want junk food? How about fries? Oh, not junky enough? How about we add gravy? Gravy that tastes like it's been lubricating a diesel engine for something like 20000 kilometres. No? How about we add cheese curds? Little cheese by products that squeak when you bite into them, until the gravy hits and they become like some kind of industrial adhesive? Is that junky enough? It is? Excellent. I think it's not food, it's a weapon of mass destruction. If that sucker got released into the US, they'd be stacking up corpses like cordwood. Okay, they'd need forklifts, but you get the idea.

5) Ambush Bug and Discworld: Generally, Fantastic Humour. Seriously, either of these will cause me to have giggle fits like a MoFo. I also really enjoyed the first humour issue of What If (although What The! was mediocre, at best).
