You've got to admire Harry Knowles...
Dec. 3rd, 2005 10:44 amHe hasn't allowed illiteracy to slow him down.
When I saw the online trailer - I have to admit, I was kinda hoping that Uwe might be able to achieve the camp fun of something like THE SWORD AND THE SORCEROR,but that was an under-financed fantasy flick with tons of blood and nudity - but something that seems beyond Uwe.
Okay, does that sentence make sense to anyone? Is nesting a thought within another thought that hard? Was TS&TS an under-financed fantasy flick with tons of blood and nudity, or is Bloodrayne? What is beyond Uwe? And why the hell is Knowles referring to a guy he's doing a hatchet job on by his first name?
Ah, I gotta clean the house.

Date: 2005-12-03 04:25 pm (UTC)I saw him at SDCC several years ago. It took every fibre of my being to resist whipping him with a hardcover Strunk & White for an hour. "It's not that big a book! Put down your hentai for fifteen minutes and fucking READ IT!"
I'm no grammar nazi, but I crave a certain legibility in my online drivel.

Date: 2005-12-03 06:30 pm (UTC)The intent of the sentence (particularly, having seen both The Sword and the Sorcerer, which I own, and the trailer for Uwe's unabashed LotR rip-off ostensibly based on Dungeon Siege) is relatively uncomplicated, to me. Uwe doesn't have the lighthearted touch Albert Pyun once did.
