Yesterday!

thebitterguyWell, yesterday a chittering horde descended on Casa Bitter for a housewarming.
Admittedly, way too many of them are represented on this particular venue. Hey, that's cool. It was mostly a casual day, giving everyone the home tour and seating them down to kibbitz. We did BBQ for dinner, which is kinda when the event kinda derailled. We used a 'light the box' set from PC, and it didn't quite work too well. So the heat was too low, and the burgers cooked slowly.
So, yeah. The common refrain became "The burgers will be finished when they're finished, unless you can think of some way to get these coals to emit more heat", generally sprinkled with anglo-saxon epithets.

nottheterritory and anidada's enfant took a great delight in dashing around the yard (and trying out the park), there was a display of Rabbit Style kung fu, and the burgers turned out good. Eventually.
The day ended when I ejected Charles andmadmanofprague forcibly before they could play another game of Halo 2. Sav it for the next Halo day, kids!
Regrets? I have a few. And I'm gonna mention them: People, talk to each other! Stop friggin' sequestering yourself into "Cynra's Buffy Friends" and "YHB's Gamer buddies". It's embarrassing. That, and no co-workers showed up (Cynra didn't invite hers until too late, but at least one of mine was supposed to show) and neither did any family. Okay, hers lives out East. And Qusay did make it out for a while.
The Cream Cheese & Raspberry Chipotle dip was divine, however. Hmmm.

Date: 2005-06-26 10:36 pm (UTC)I've never understood the desire to combine peppers and berries. Some of our local fast food joins serve jalapeno poppers with a berry sauce, and I just cannot do it.
That being said, it sounds like you had a fun day. I'd kill for enough local friends to come over and socialise at my hizzouse.
