Wow. Flashback.

thebitterguyA lifetime ago, Chris, Kim, Jason, Me, and two other guys whose names I forget got together to watch Star Wars.
We realized that we were going to watch the bowdlerized pan & scan TV taped version of the films. The film purist in me howled at the indignation. "But I have the letterboxed version at home! This will be cut all to shit!" I implored. No avail.
Jason, in his eternally nonchalant manner, said "It's okay. We've all seen them before. We know the plot."
Chris, who vibrated like Barry Allen about to pass through the dimensional barriers interjected with an immortal pice of wisdom. "The plot? Hell, we know the dialogue."
This piece from Atom Films, "For Love of the Film", made me think of that.
I miss them sometimes. Chris, at least, I know is still alive. Jason occasionally surfaces (if anyone knows Jason Fryer, who wrote a couple Kult supplements, tell him to get in touch. I think I owe him money). Kim was working in a peeler bar a decade ago, and I have no idea who the other two guys were. Marks?
