Enterprise does TOS. Does not suck
Apr. 23rd, 2005 12:21 amReally, that's all there is to. Enterprise did an episode (well, part 1 of a two parter) that was actually a lot like Star Trek. There's Mirror Universe stuff (but scar technology has improved in the past 30 years, apparently, while goatee skills have wasted away), Tholians, and guys in red shirts.
And a rewritten opening with a shotgun toting Farmer from Babe and no singing on the opening credits.
Really, this almost makes the first three seasons... Nah, it doesn't.
But, hell, I'll be watching this puppy next week. Thanks to
etherlad's stick-to-itiveness in pimping what's otherwise been a dog.

Date: 2005-04-23 11:51 pm (UTC)I actually tried watching it, b/c the Mirror Universe is one of my mostest fave episodes in TOS, and I enjoyed the TNG novel, Dark Mirror, so I thought I could get into it.
I was wrong.

Date: 2005-04-24 05:22 am (UTC)[Enterprise 1 set vanishes, replaced by empty holodeck]
Riker: [taps badge] Riker to bridge. Captain, the runaway holodeck virus has been destroyed.
Picard (heard through communicator): Very good Number One. Mr. Crusher, ahead warp 5.
Troi: How are you feeling?
Riker: Hungry. For a hot fudge sundae. In your quarters.
Troi: [knowing smile]
Theme music up, Enterprise D goes into warp. Roll credits.
