Hey, look, kids! It's almost a meme!

"Pick stuff on your interests lists that isn't highlighted and talk about it like people care."

Dishonest play: I put this down as a companion to "honest work", even though I abhor honest work. I figure dishonest play is as good a description of any one of various hobbies as I can come up with.

Rich Dansky: Surprisingly enough, because he's just a hoopy frood.

The All-Star Squadron: A weak spot for WWII masked men, have I. The new Invaders is just shit, though. Since there's a ton of comics geeks out there, I presume I've just mis-spelled it.

The Bitter Guide: If you need to ask, you're not one of those goofs who's been asking "why are you bitter" for years now, as if that makes them clever. It was clever in mid-Clinton, folks. No longer.

The Justice Machine: Cheesy '80s comic. Enjoyable, in any case. And the Heroes Unlimited sourcebook (originally announced for Champions, curse Siembieda's eyes!) has good art.

You know I was really intrigued by the new invaders. It seemed like a nice idea. Then I picked up a few issues. Wow. Talk about amateur hour. The artwork is amongst the worst I have ever seen. Nevermind how boring and uninteresting the story was.

I'm all about the All-Star Squadron, dude. Especially the Ultra-Humanite storyline. Matter of fact, I just got the new Alter Ego (http://www.twomorrows.com/alterego/) because it was the all-All-Star issue.

Well I have always liked the John Walker version of Captain America. Something about the big giant redneck overly violent version of Captain America appeals to me.

From early looks I was just hoping for big dumb superhero stories with guns and explosions. But instead it had horrid, horrid artwork. And the plotlines, while dumb, weren't really exciting either.

But did you ever see the Justice Machine - Villains and Vigilantes crossover?

Fair point. I was hoping that it would be a warts and all style look at him. Maybe have him go off the deep end once and a while. I was hoping for something a little like the Authority. Instead I got something lame and boring. Hence I picked up two or three issues and never looked at it again. To tell you the truth, I could not even tell you what happened in those issues anymore, despite only reading them a short while ago.

Except they have a stealth boat. I think.

My bad, it was a Justice Machine/Elementals crossover. I was getting my obscure Bill Willingham titles mixed up.
