Druggist refuses to provide medication they don't agree with.

A question for the professionals out there (okay, for [livejournal.com profile] mr_weasel: Does this in any way violate a pharmacist's code of ethics? Can you refuse to fill a valid prescription?

Yes, I can. Generally, only if I feel that harm would come to the patient. As the article says, if I objected on moral grounds, I'd have to allow the person to get access to their medication from some other pharmacy/pharmacist. Of course, I'm fairly cosmopolitan and don't have my head shoved up my ass so I wouldn't refuse a prescription for birth control pills.

Hell, there's enough stupid people on this planet as it is....
