So I received an email from one of the Canadian gaming cons alerting me they’re looking for GMs to run events at the show.
The email was weird. It was sent from one of the concom’s business email addresses, so the bottom was a big thing of corporate signature file (including the logo of one the nation’s banks?). Of course, the sendees were in a public “to” list instead of BCC’d, so that’s a poor choice there.
One of the receivers was the sender’s own MSN & Gmail addresses, so I know he could have just used those to send out. Of course, they could also have made a convention email address and avoided all of this.
How to submit your event is a little unclear. There’s an email included which seems to be it, but there’s also a link to a Google Form to submit them. Which I’ve used, and it also seems like using safety tools is an optional choice at the con?
Ah, well. I’m gonna see what Via’s rate is for a train up to the nation’s capital on Victoria day weekend next Tuesday (always buy Via tickets on Tuesdays) and start hunting around for
