So, yeah, that was Saturday
Jun. 8th, 2008 12:20 pmSo, first thing in the AM
atomiks showed up so we could go for a bike ride. A nice trip around Milton and up into Halton Hills (just into Halton Hills. The town name is not an exaggeration). We pedalled through the town's street festival and then headed home.
atomiks noticed that my rear wheel was out of alignment. So we headed over to Spokes & Slopes to ask them to put it back on the true. So, they took it in back and brought it out, good as new! And they'd fixed it for a reasonable rate.
Well, not really. We got home, and he noticed that, instead of fixing the wheel, they'd just opened the brake a little. Oops.
Anyway, after breakfast, I headed to Battlegrounds for World D&D Day. They were sold out of the PH, which was a good sign.
My game was a strange one. A very strange one. You see, I was the oldest peson at the table by a wide margin.
No, seriously. I could have been the dad of any of my fellow players. I would have happily wagered none of them were over 14.
The adventure was interesting, and enjoyably brief. There were two and a half encounters, one with a couple hobgoblins, one with an evil elf and his skeleton sidekicks, and one with a couple stone statues.
My fighter had a great daily power, Villain's Menace, which works even better when you roll a 20. Between that and my other fighter abilities, it put a significant crink in the bad guys.
We also managed to defeat the white dragon in the post game event. Quite fun.
I walked home afterwards, and that night Cynra & I grabbed some Greek and saw Kung Fu Panda. Two thoughts on the film: The best Jadeclaw movie ever, and I liked the unspoken homage to Kung Fu Hustle.
