By the end of Act II in a Katzenberg movie, all the conflicts have been brought into sharp focus, there are no more reveals or reversals to be had, and the plot is reduced to a set of vectors pitting the protagonist against whatever forces have been arrayed against him, usually with a ticking clock hovering nearby to add tension.

Gary Gygax has passed away

EGG has passed on.

I had no connection to the man; we didn't even get to interact that much when he was GoH at the first GX. But I think I (and a lot of other people reading this) can say that he has probably impacted my life as much as anyone else who I never lived with.

Other amusing coincidences

I still have (I think) my first d20, the light blue one that came in the red box you needed to colour in with crayon.

I was thinking of asking spike20 if he had a tool that could drill a very fine hole, just wide enough to run some thin wire through, because I wanted to hang it in my car from my rearview window.

Just as a sort of good luck charm, you know?
