Game, yah.
Apr. 20th, 2007 11:46 amGood game. I actually ordered another PC killed. Which is strange, when you consider we're playing a game based on Best Friends.
It was amusing. Paul had decided that his PC was going to arrange to have one of his business rivals removed by framing him for his lover's murder, which he arranged through one of his employees.
Now, at the same time, Bruce Willis VIII was killed in a hyperspace explosion along with several thousand people; now, while this is a recognized error of the hyperspace system, it upset many people, since a ship as large as the one he was on would have had a proper Cholium coating (Cholium is the substance that allows ships to traverse hyperspace without exploding; it's very valuable, and is the resource we're planning to go to war over).
Naturally, we blamed it on terrorists. Then, another ship exploded in hyperspace, and we were afraid it actually WAS terrorists. It appears to be caused by a bacteria that causes the cholium coating to break down. So we called in the leadinge expert on Cholium. Unfortunately, it turned out she'd been murdered.
Anyway, as SoD I declared it a military issue, and called in the JAG to investigate (I think I should have actually gotten NIS, as they handle investigations and sound creepier). It turned out that some of Paul's character actions pretty much added up to a very strong circumstantial case that he was, in fact, working with the evil lizard people.
In the end, a Deus Ex Machina came up and he got away, but still it was an odd, odd game. The Best Friends system was found to break down a bit in play, shock.
But, yeah, fun. I have no idea what we arranged, I think we were going to send the other PCs into a warzone horribly under-prepared, but that was delayed for now.
