The weekend was quiet, mostly.
atomiks came by yesterday to hang for a bit; we ate stroganoff and watched O Brother.
Earlier in the day, Cynra took Khem Khat in for her shots & I took Supercar to get the Winter tires on (the summers are now in the shed, because they were tied up two to a bag and I did NOT want to carry that down the stairs). So, as I was driving home the snowflakes started falling. Beat THAT, mother nature! I gots my snows on!
Today was interesting, as
luciancarter and (and Mitch-who-does-not-have-an-lj) went to see the
Blood, Sweat & Ears show at Club 107.
It was an good show. I thought the openning match was particularly good; the competitors were all students from a local wrestling school, and you could tell they were all very comfortable working together.
There were four tag team matches, a woman's division match and three men's. But the highlight of the night was a match between
Lance Storm and
Christian. It was particularly awesome for me, as I'd had almost opportunities to see both of them wrestle in the WWE. The Lance Storm bout was fucked up by some stupid angle where Cade got 'injured', but that turned out to be a work, and Christian got to do a Peep Show segment that ended with him getting a beating from the Mexicools. Neither of these really allowed them to highlight their ring skills.
So, when they announced that they'd be wrestling each other at BSE (and is THAT not an unfortunate acronym?) I was in like Flynn.
noizangel couldn't make it because of LARP commitments. More fool she! The match was, if not kick ass, very good. The two of them took a while to get started, with Christian folding his pants and jacket before passing them to the timekeeper. To say the two of them had a hot crowd is to understate the case signficantly. The crowd gave the aforementioned pans folding a "holy shit" chant.
The two of them then did a five second pose-off before the match as well. And the match was sublime. Really, two guys that good in the ring together was worth the $15. Storm can sell an elbow to the head like nobody in the industry. After two unprettiers, Christian won, but I think the audience were the real winners.
So, yeah, good weekend. Short week this week (no maybies this time).
