The Bitter Guide to FCBD
May. 7th, 2006 10:28 amUhh... I got some free comic books?
Okay, yeah, there was more than that.
So, first off, Cynra & I headed down to my FNSLCS to manhandle the FCBD piles.
It looks (joy of joys!) like they're re-organizing the place. My suggestions include removing 45% of the back issue spaces and use it to display trades and action figures.
We picked up most of the FCBD stuff (all of it between us, IIRC). X-Men/Runaways was the high point. I got Y TPB #3 and Cynra got a couple issues of the Angel scriptbooks.
Afterwards, we went down to Lake Ontario Place to drop off passes for her Robotics team that didn't get used, and then picked up our tickets to "Look, up in the sky!" Always nice to go downtown.
I'd hoped to swing by
mr_weasel's place of employ, but we ended up going to see Kinky Boots at the AMC after having some Greek food for dinner.
KB was, well, an interesting movie. I think we need a 7 year moratorium on Star Trek series and films about plucky Englishmen who work together to overcome adversity, and learn something along the way, even if it IS based on a real story. Chewitel Ejiofor as a drag queen was definitely worth the price of admission. I may never be able to watch Serenity again.
Afterwards we came home and watched Battlestar: Space Arabs, and then I fell asleep much like a corpse midway through the original Batman movie. Cynra had never before noticed that Cesar Romero's mustache was visible through his makeup, possibly due to distraction by her lifelong crush on Frank Gorshin.
Man, some days a guy just wants to kill Adam West.
Today will be yard work, laundry, and Superman Documentaries.
