Apr. 1st, 2006 10:47 amMy enthusiasm for AFD has diminished as I've grown older. I'm past my "honey on the doorknob" phase, which is always good. And AFD 'jokes' seem to be getting less and less funny. Or I just don't take anything said today serious enough to fall for it.
Feh.
Cynra had a bridal shower for one of her co-workers last night, so I relaxed by picking up my geek tithe and a burrito. Comics were okay this week; got her Spike vs Dracula #2 (Dracula is fighting Spike AND Apocalypse. Guess which one he's more worried about?), got myself Avengers llluminati, where they finally get all the leader types (Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic. Professor X, Black Bolt, Namor & Dr. Strange) in a room to discuss stuff.
It was interesting, but read more like the beginning of a What If than the launch of a story I'm gonna be interested in reading. Shame Speedball is gonna get all those kids killed.
AS-S #3 was neat, of course, and Busiek's Superman was good; the first (IIRC) of the 1 year Later stuff for Superman. So, he's no powers man now? That's interesting.
Got a Star Wars Universe booster. My big fig was the Hailfire Droid (nice sculpt, not over-powered) and my rare was the worst UR ever: Dr. Evezan.
Who, you might ask? Remember on Tattoinne? "I have the death sentence on 12 systems"? Yeah, that guy. An Ultra-Rare? Colour me unimpressed. Anyone got a spare Rancor they wanna trade? Or, hell, a Lobot.
Edit: Okay, I change my mind on the AFD jokes: This is funny.
