Sense Memory = sledgehammer
Oct. 9th, 2003 07:48 pmWalked in today; the cleaning lady (we don't earn enough to have a maid) was in today, and I'd picked up a new lysol cleaner in 'apple orchard'.
Walked downstairs, and the scent hit me with a whallop. Just like visiting my uncle Samir's house in North Gower. He'd retired and bought himself a house with an apple orchard out back. When you went to the house, it always smelled of apples (because he stored them in a crawlspace downstairs).
It's not like we were there a LOT (we did visit on more than a few occasions), but the scent of apples, that strong, just brought it back.
Good stuff, that lysol.
