Not nearly as tired as I should be
Aug. 31st, 2003 02:34 amSo, today I drove Snra. Bitter & Colleen to the Worldcon, which was fun. I met
mr_weasel and
mindrobber for breaky at Paddingtons.
Now, I know I mentioned 'can we find someplace on Front', but that was simply silly. It was more than a couple blocks, and we had to go to Chapters, man.
Breakfast was okay. Eggs over easy, standard.
Got to the Neil Gaiman signing at 12:30. It started at 1. It started at one, actually, with a Q&A that NO ONE COULD HEAR. That was annoying.
So, I got in line. Kibbitzed a bith with the ladies surrounding (charming, one and all) and waited. And Waited. Line moved. Waited.
Started out lovin' Neil in the Music & Performing Arts section. Grew disquited by Health and Sexuality. Was ready to kill him in Children's. Was too tired to do anything but hand over books through computers.
While in line,
mr_weasel came over, while
mindrobber split. We took turns reading books off the shelves.
Best book I read there was.. Damn. The title escapes. Anyway, it describes social habits in literaly hundreds of countries, such as what hand gestures you should make, how long it will take someone to get back to you, how long they'll make you wait for them in a meeting, etc, etc. Good resource for modern day writers, I figure.
Did I mention I got my autograph at 5:30? Five hours of line. Yep.
Dropped Good Omens & Wolves in the Walls off with Snra. Bitter, and headed home to shower afore heading to
pyat's with
mr_weasel for gaming night.
Played a little Shatterzone, but we couldn't focus. Adventure sounded interesting, but we were too frazzled to think, dammit.
I took Wrasslin', Chez Geek & Hacker in the hopes someone would want ot play, but nope. Ah, well.
Ended up kibbitzing about stuff while there, and arguing over The Matrix Reloaded. And farting a lot. And ate KFC, which is once again not the good idea.
Drove back, and went cat food shopping at Sobey's while
mr_weasel destroyed merchandise.
