Heh. Just a minute, I said.
Jul. 14th, 2003 12:17 amThis will take two.
So, yes. Home. I can't feel my legs.
As per last year, Toronto Trek was a mixture of as many panels as they'd allow and pimping Sunnydale Central 2. I ran down the autograph line several times. Which is painful, because I have bad shoes.
Oh, yeah. Harry Groener has been confirmed as guest #3 for SC. Rock on.
Saturday night I attempted dance/party crawling with Creighton but that got disturbed because of what I can only refer to as the greatest assoholic action on the part of a hotel ever.
Dear Quality Suites:
If you insist on treating paying guests as prospective criminals, while doing nothing to prevent them from being the recipient of actual criminal active, please be certain that A) you can go fuck yourselves and B) in the process of fucking yourselves, realize you have lost a customer for... Hmm, life should be long enough.
I will sleep in my car before granting you a dime of my hard earned shekels. If I ever see one of your hotels in the process of being burned down by arsonists, I will consult a lawyer to see what my legal responsibilities are before reporting it. Having consulted a lawyer, I will take any action required very slowly.
Fuck you up the ass with a Chainsaw,
The Bitter Guy
On the plus side, just before having their gross incompetence revealed, I bumped into TCon guest Anthony S. Head (Ladies Love Head!) on the way back from the ice machine. Having had a few tipples, I thought he was just a fellow hotel stayer until my ever shart media brain said "Doofus! That's Tony Fuckin' Head! Bizzatch!".
So, seizing on something
mr_weasel had said, I turned, looked down the hall and shouted "I loved you in ManChild!" He replied with a polite thank you.
Panels went well. What's New in Gaming needs to be redefined to "What's new in Tabletop RPGs, so leave now console players, MMORPG players, wargamers, card gamers, and others."
I also need to consult my sheets before panels so I know when I'm moderating, to prevent the eeeevil from Buffalo from subverting me. Fucker.
I did get to make a few zingers during Comics to Movies ("Yes, since we've managed to completely eradicate racism, the message of the X-Men is now redundant" and a bit about how Sentinels are not nearly as inconceivable as some would like to think), and the Discworld 101 panel was a blast. Movies in Review was, once again, too short (hmmm. I think a two hour panel might be in order here), and Vince McMahon against Alien Wrestlers? was under-attended because of an overrun on the masquerade/art auction.
Hey,
noizangel, did Klingons Crossing the Delaware get sold? If I was a bit richer I'd take that bitch Hoooooome.
Got home to
eyebeams message that he could join GenCon trip. Huzzah!
Now to bed.
