Oct. 31st, 2002 10:31 pmCrap. Windows had to crash out on me.
Anyway: Got passed over for a promotion at work. It's reasonably upsetting, until I remember that it's essentially getting all the bad parts of a promotion without any of the good.
It was for 'acting assistant manager', which is essentially a team coach/leader. We would have gotten to work 11-8 (Family? Son, family ain't IN the mission statement. What? It is?), got to do all the work of an AM, but wouldn't have gotten the commensurate increase in pay.
Admittedly, the interview process did have a bit of an ego boo to it. My boss told me I'm her right hand guy, which is always great to hear. Until I remember that's what Boss Grissom told Jack right before he tried to have him iced.
I can't hate America. How could you hate any nation that could inspire the song "America"? Gotta love Neil Diamond.
Oh, yeah: Tonight's Survivor. I did notice that Jeff never said "merge". He DID say 'two tribes on one beach", and they got the merge-feast, but he never SAID merge.
Shame Shi-Ann didn't notice. Guess you CAN mess with the Shi Devil.
