Well, back again.
Had a good time at the parents this weekend. Got to sleep in the comfy bed (advantage of being the married one, ayep).
Anyway, last night we went out to dinner and a show (Yuk Yuk's comedy).
First off: Trying to get the bill out of my dad's hands is like pulling teeth from a cobra. Didn't even get the chance to look at the drink bill. So didn't get to contribute.
The dinner was at Minos, which is a franchise in Kingston (well, they have three locations). The package gives you a slightly reduced menu, and I ended up eating about half of my dinner (all the steak, though; you can't let the steak go to waste. Something DIED for the steak).
The Yuk Yuks show was pretty good. One of the performers was an old acquaintance of mine from high school, and he remembered me. He was actually pretty funny, and Cindy & I are thinking of catching his act next time he's in town.
We've been to Yuk Yuks three times so far, always on someone else's tab. The TO location is crappy (there's these rows of thin tables and chairs that aren't comfy), but we've yet to try the one in Mississagua.
The headliner was Russell Peters, the Indian guy who you may have seen on the telly. The problem was he moved away from the Ethnic comedy (the ethnic comedy styyyylings, as they say) and did a huge set mostly on porn.
He did get to make fun of Americans for a bit. But there wasn't nearly as much of his good stuff as I'd hoped for.
All in all, a good weekend. And I got some Tim's Cider. Hmm.
