Mar. 24th, 2002 08:45 pmWhat a splendid weekend, then.
Friday night was nice and quiet, since our intended house guests were too busy seeking the company of David Suzuki to come visit.
I remain unbitter.
Yesterday (Saturday, for those brave visitors from the future!) I got to play D&D with Brad, his charming wife Odette, and two underemployed guys with the same name.
It was, as always, fun. The DM decided to give every PC screen time at the beginning of the game, which is good, unless your screen time's expired, in which case it isn't.
One of the PCs, while we were gathering at a bar, decapitated a young pickpocket. And HE'S the good one.
Feh.
Anyway, the adventure commenced, and we trooped off into the woods. Brad told us "we're creating the game world Together!", which we promptly began to taunt him with.
After a vicious battle (but not for us! Word to the wise, evil mages, don't raise skeletons when there's an evil cleric present!
In the end, we got a farm and saved the village. Well, I don't know if we saved anything, but we got a farm.
Afterwards, it was karaoke. So Sra. Bitter & I went out to pick up our friends, and discovered osmething interesting. The bar where we'd planned to go Karoaking was booked for an engagement party.
WHich, of course, meant that Karaoke was cancelled there. We checked out no fewer than three venues which were known or suspected to host Karaoke. Nothing.
So, we went to Ed's place to sing on his system. Which was nice, as we WERE the rotation, and there was no smoking. I inhaled a Whopper and read half of The Kents during the night. Cindy sang Something to Talk About, which was our wedding song. I still get sniffly.
Today, then, was quiet. Cindy & I did breakfast at the Dundas St. Grille, which is a great breakfast place if you live in TO. There's a Greek omlette there that's to die for.
And today, we did chores & watched Tron on DVD. God, Bruce Boxleitner was five when that thing got made.
The Oscars have started. She's laughing with glee.
