Jan. 22nd, 2002 05:44 pmFeh. I've been upgraded from 'Sick' to 'Blah'. Which is about right.
I was well enough to go to work today, which is good. Because, hey, money.
If I got one lesson from the Addled Geeks, it's that doing something interesting with annoying people (that, my friends, was the least offensive adjective I could think of) is just as bad as doing something you're apathetic about.
I got some review material from rpg.net yesterday. A copy of Cute & Fuzzy Seizure Monsters from Guardians of Order, Unexploded Cow from Cheapass Games, and Return to Cats Eye from DP9. Interestingly enough, 2/3 of those games are produced by Canadian Companies.
I like the guys at DP9. I don't think I've ever met one of their reps who was less than congenial, at best. Marc Vezina is just great. He's one of those guys who exudes enthusiasm, and Hilary Doda is nice enough that I can see working for her sometime. I miss bumping into Steph Brochu at cons and stuff. He knows how to treat reviewers, let me tell you.
Guardians of Order rock. I've evangelized BESM to everyone I could everytime I could. It's just good enough that I can see it replacing my strange Champions/Top Secret fusion for "best game ever". The eagerness with which I anticipate Silver Age Sentinels is strong.
And Cheapass is great. Simply swell. And they were one of the final entries in the "Why you shouldn't trust this guy" contest, when a certain SOMEONE suggested that Starbase Jeff was named after him.
Feh.
Okay, I'm fine now. Today, I had an episode at work. Two chicks were discussing the situation with Al-Qaeda and Taliban Combatants in Cuba. But they couldn't seem to actulaly decide anything, since they didn't know what was going on.
Two quotes: "It's been, like, four months" and "They didn't catch him, so what's the deal?"
They're very lucky I don't hold power of life and death, let me tell YOU. I really think people should pay a little attention to what are mostly world shaping events.
