Oh, yeah: the weekend
Mar. 20th, 2004 07:24 pmEnjoyable weekend w/ Snra. We checked into the hotel yesterday afternoon.
The hotel was... Hm. Good is a bit of an exaggeration. The bloodstain on the sheets was a bit of a downer (it could have been another fluid, of course, and was tiny). We will be writing a gentle letter to the manager regarding the situation, and the vital necessity of changing sheets in between customers.
The breakfast was standard continental. For what they charge for a room night, we could AT LEAST get an omelette bar.
The Producers was delightful. A bit spicier than I'd assumed (they used the F word!). Someone should alert the FCC to all this vulgarity and obscenity on the stages of Broadway. That would be hilarious.
Michel Theriault's performance as Bloom was particularly good. In fact, I can't quite see Ferris doing that role. I mean, he's a good 'ol actor and all, but Theriault's performance was incredible.
Physical comedy is a great thing. The way he caressed that blanket was delightful. Sean Cullen's performance was enjoyable, but pretty much Sean Cullen.
Overall, rock-a-licious.
Dinner at La Biftheque was not a delight. The steak was cooked to request, but was less than engaging. And the waiter seemed far too busy (he mixed up our orders with those of hte people next to us at least three times).
Today we took in the new Egypt exhibit in the ROM. I can't wait to start visit England and start digging shit up ("Hey, this'll look fuckin' GREAT in my living room!"). It did inspire me to take out some Ancient Egypt themed RPG books and start ruminating. But then again, I'm a geek.
I stopped off at the local retro thrift shop and bought a copy of the PsiWorld boxed set. Why? That's a great question. Anyone got any suggestions?
