Is that funny? The basic principle is amusing, but they just pile indignity upon indignity.

Besides, painting is a very time intensive endeavor. Ask < lj user="Mr_weasel">.

Just how many times can they use the word "Elf" in a four-minute video anyway? And what the heck are "Orc-Elves"?

Shame can be a cleansing force.

His "Dark Elf army" contains large numbers of goblins and chaos knights... old school models at that - most of his figs are from the mid-'90s or earlier.

Am I a bad person for knowing when most of the figs he owns were released?

Dark Elf Halbardiers?

They are the Black Guard of Naggaroth, and I used to field 24 of them.

:)

This guy looked a LOT like Denny Unger (who runs WorldWorksGames.com) and he lives in BC.

I was waiting for a confirmation of his ID before I was convinced it wasn't.

All I can say is, if he won painting competitions...

;)

Seriously funny as hell. And painful.

I lasted 30 seconds of that. It could have been funnier, it was painful and he had nowhere near enough facial hair or acne to be that obsessed with minatures.

I dunno, I tried to appreciate his .. enthusiasm but then I started laughing and I couldn't stop.

I wasn't sure, so I went back for another listen. Still sounds like "Orc-Elves" to me. And if you watch his mouth, it looks like he's making an "Oh", not a "Da" (when he says "One time, this Orc-Elf army..." near the start of the video).

Well, it was basically a "tricky" elf Army. There were some trained monkey moves, like using a certain magical banner to increase the Corsairs' unmodifiable save from 5+ to 4+ on a d6. But as a rule you had to be clever, as aside from spearmen your units all cost more than elven units but weren't actually all that much better statistically.

Dark elf armies have "Hatred" of elves, so in a bttle versus elves they had an unmodifiable morale of 10 (so an 11 or 12 on 2d6 to break). Most dark elf players never get to play against elves because of that. However my one friend was sure he could get me, so I got to play that game a lot. Never lost ... but neither would have a half-trained monkey, so I'm not sure how much pride I should take in that.

Chaos armies used to stomp me flat.

Doug.
