So, a few months back [livejournal.com profile] terminal_pariah loaned me BioShock and The Orange Box after a Halo day.

I've had fun poking around with them here and there. BioShock was the most fun. How can you resist the urge to travel an undersea libertarian paradise zapping mutants with electrical shocks? I don't think you can.

I had gotten to the final boss fight in BioShock and was feeling discouraged for a couple weeks, but last night I decided to go back and give it another shot. That worked pretty well, since I managed to take out the big boss on my second try. I need to find out who suggested I try the wrench and related tonics and punch them in their junk.

I also made the correct moral choice in the game, and got rewarded for it with precious, precious achievement points. Huzzah!

I have Bully and Mass Effect that I've not made much more than dents into, so I guess I'd best get to work on them

Bully is one of my favorite games ever. It's also a remarkably apt depiction of the American public school system.

In BioShock are you running down a corridor or can you go on side trips?

We demoed it at my library on the full sized screen in the theatre, it looked pretty good.

My favourite computer games are board game ports like Steel Panthers, History of the World and tinker toy games like Distant Guns.

I like tinkering and wandering around in games.

The latter. What the British call public, we call private.
