Hoo'd win!? Hot Ninja on Ninja action edition!

To celebrate me being thrilled by a rerun of Batman Begins and creeped out by a Snake Eyes fansite (at least the erotic slash fiction section is not immediately visible), The Bitter Guy is proud to present to you: Hoo'd Win! The Ninja edition!

In the Black corner, Snake Eyes, member of a elite military team that fights ambiguous terrorists who seem more intent on conquering the world through MLM! He has a hot redheaded southern chick hung up on him, even though his face can best be described as 'deep fried', yet he chooses to live in the woods with his best friend, a deaf wolf*! Of course, he's mute, so it doesn't really matter.

In the... OTHER black corner: The God Damn Batman. Dark Knight Detective, guardian of the gotham streets, protector of the innocent and member of completely innocent relationships with young boys.

So, kids, let's take it to the streets: Who wins in this drag em out battle of night warriors of the graphic novel world?

Fight!

[Poll #747207]

*Wolf not actually deaf.

That's a tough fight. Batman has the edge.

Snake Eyes vs. Captain America would be a good fight, too.

Sweet!

Umm... batman's got a bigger and more established fanbase, so he'd win. :-D

Righteous!

No, The Bat would win beecause he's The Bat. Snake Eyes is just a ninja. Batman eats ninjas for breakfast.

I prefer to think of it as "a firmly-established iconic presence in the pop culture pantheon."

EVERYONE knows the Batman. My grandmother knew the Batman; my grandSON knows the Batman.

The only reason I know Snake Eyes is because my college roommate's kid brother watched G.I. Joe.

However, that's not why Snake Eyes would lose.

Snake Eyes is just a Ninja. Okay, a ninja and an elite commando. Doesn't matter. The Batman is not only sneaksy and fightsy and tricksy, he's the World's Greatest Detective, and is continually out-maneuvering more physically powerful opponents. He's got that trendy Ninja training, yes, but he's also an expert escape artist, a skilled forensic scientist, a capable engineer, and, well, filthy rich.

And if you don't think that last matters, "wonderful toys" aside, take a look at the end of the Justice League episode, "Injustice for All".

I'm well aware of all of the above, and I did vote for The Bat. It's fun baiting on fandoms though sometimes. ;)

Oh, being "a firmly-established iconic presence in the pop culture pantheon" is definitely PART of Brucie's edge in this little conflict.

Naturally, especally since, as with all things in comic books, the answer ultimately comes down to who's writing the story, what mag it's in, and of course the feelings of the editors on the subject (which, let's just say... are definitely swayed by things like popularity).

But yes, there are many reasons why the fictional character of Batman has a serious edge. Being a fictional character in a shared universe, though, he's vulnerable to the whims of the creative staff.

Excuse me?

Hel-loo? Is there a question here? Brucey took down Clarkie, man! Come on!

(And who are those voting for Snake Eyes, anyway? Must have been folks responsible for Snake Eyes slash!)

*shudders*

Hey, at least with Snake Eyes slash, there's not as much inane dialogue.

Unless Snakey's "partner" is one that's keen on rambling monologues.

Wow, I haven't seen a poll this one sided since "Would Would Win In A Fight: Germany or Poland?"

[identity profile] uhlrik.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps a more meaningful poll would be "Thanos vs. Humbug"...

[identity profile] viktor-haag.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Now we need to know if Snake Eyes has more in common with Captain Carnage than we'd first assumed. Perhaps you're enabling him? 8)

That's right, the uppity bitch. Serves him right for trying to go above his place.
