The call of the forty
Or however much is in one of them bottles.
For going on a year now, I've been on a no-alcohol diet enforced by my Doctor. Now, for all I know, the last set of tests said "well, whatever was showing up has gone away", but until I get that appointment, it's really a mystery.
Anyway, in the past 10 months, I've had exactly two drinks, both at weddings. Well, the first one was AFTER a wedding, but it was at Mexicali Rosa's in Ottawa and I'd kinda forgotten.
Anyway, it's been a while since I've been able to drink with anything resembling seriousness. I don't really drink a lot, but when I do drink, I enjoy it. God knows, work occasionally tempts me to grab a pint to detoxify.
Occasionally the drink menu gets very, very tempting, and something in my brain goes "heyyyy, look at THAT fancy cocktail!"
But then, my doc's face hovers in my mind's eye every time the Captain starts to tempt. God knows, a bucket of Margaritas upstairs is harsh, but I don't wanna die young, dig?
I just miss mixed drinks & Karaoke.

My serious drinking days are long behind me, but there are days when that whiskey-and-soda or double Glenfiddich aren't just a desire, they're a food group.
Hope all is well on the medical front. :(
