There are certain among the psychiatric professions who believe that beloved SNL character Stuart Smalley was correct, and that self-affirmation is a bonus to ones mental well being and self worth. So, YHB has been working to start his day by acknowledging his worth and strengths. To do so, I've written this short affirmation/poem, which I would now like to share with you:.
I am a Jedi Master
Kung fu Master
Master blaster
I'll eat my troubles like a bowl of pasta
and wash it down with Orange shasta.
No, I didn't steal any part of that from a Beastie Boys song. It's just.. Shasta... well, it scans better than C-Plus.
In other news: watched Drive last night. Or Driven. The Nathan Fillion show about the race.
Very nice to see that evil uses powerpoint. We made it about 3/4 of the way through it, since Cynra was feeling ill, and I finished off some Venture Brothers episodes. Still very upset did not get to see the S2 finale. Dammit. They just skipped back to the S2 premiere.
Anyway, the Drive show was amusing, but I couldn't help but think "this really needs some
zoebell to liven it up". Lots of driving, so they need to give us A) engaging stunts (liked the bit with the Vet and the trio; he obviously made his 'speak trucker' roll) and B) the characters need to be interesting enough to want to basically watch them talking to each other in a static environment. Admittedly, they transition from vehicle to vehicle, so you get to at least enjoy it a little. I suppose there'll be some kind of secret evil behind the whole thing, and since it's an annual event they can do it every season, but it would be nice to just get a nice, self contained story once in a while.
We missed the Food Network's awards show (dunno if FNC even showed it), but Tony Bourdain didn't.
Behind the cut ( my greatest shame. )
